Center for Christian Studies (CCS) classes

Frederick Buechner, Charles Darwin, Thomas Kelly, James Michener, and John Howard Yoder are among the authors who will be discussed at the CCS winter class. Each lasts about an hour and are offered free to the public.

Weekly, a member of the congregation will introduce us to a book which spiritually nurtures him or her. Some of the authors are controversial, either because of how their works have been interpreted, or, in one case, because of the author’s personal ethics. Others may be comfortable and reassuring – but still, expect lively conversation!

Classes, through March 14, are held at the church on Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:45pm. A complete schedule with book titles and presenters are listed on the CALENDAR . Individual sessions stand-alone, so attend any or all (and bring a friend)!

Introduction to Reedwood Friends
As Quakers, we believe: Christ is present to us at all times, Christ is present in all places, Christ teaches all people, the Bible is key to theology, and silence and intentional listening may lead to the still, small voice that says: “this is the way of love.”

Reedwood Friends is a socially conscious community

Worship is contemplative, incorporating traditional and contemporary hymns, worship songs, messages, prayers, and recitations. Congregational participation is encouraged. Thank you for visiting the website. Call the church office for more information at 503-234-5017.
