Sunday, March 20 brings us the unique opportunity to hear Reedwooder Cameron DeWhitt perform seven songs he has written and dubbed, Salvation Songs. The songs adopt a postmodern approach to Biblical narratives such as Joshua and the battle of Jericho, Hosea, Peter and Jesus, and Lot’s wife. Cameron’s distinctive style and lyrics will give beckon you to stop and re-think some of the most well known stories and relationships in the Bible.
Cameron DeWhitt performs “Salvation Songs,” the Choir shares an Appalachian folk hymn, and Shirley Brendlinger will play the offertory.
Worship songs for the morning will be Unspoken Truth, Revive Us Again, and But For You Who Fear My Name. Karl Hutchinson will lead the praise band.
The choir will bring us an Appalachian Folk Hymn arranged by Lloyd Anderson titled, What Wondrous Love is This?. Shirley Brendlinger will play her own arrangement of Hassler’s Oh Sacred Now Wounded/Jesus Priceless Treasure for the offertory.
We hope you will join us for this wonderfully musical Sunday which promises to be sunny and mild. Happy Spring Break!
