The Year of The Green Tomato
This Sunday, clerk pastor Ken Comfort will bring a message entitled The Year of The Green Tomato. Drawing on an observation of the tomato plants outside of the Reedwood office, Ken will be sharing from Isaiah 9 and Mark 4. The passages read:
But there will be no gloom for those who are in anguish… The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness-on them light has shined… for a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rest upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Is.9:1a, 2, 6)
The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region of the shadow of death, light has dawned. (Matt. 4:16,17a)
The basis of our worship is silence, listening, waiting. The singing, prayer, and preaching rise out of the silence to give us direction and keep us centered on the inward teacher, Jesus. We look forward to sharing in worship with you on Sunday at 9:30am.
All scripture references are quoted from the New Revised Standard Version.
