Youth-led worship this Sunday.
Reedwood’s youth will be leading worship this weekend as we look toward Mexico Trip 2012. Mexico team members and other youth will be up front, singing worship songs, introducing the Mexico trip, and speaking from the pulpit.
Worship songs include Gungor’s Beautiful Things, Agents of Future’s I’ve Tasted You, and the Servant Song. Below are a sampling of lyrics from these songs:
Beautiful Things: “You make beautiful things, You make beautiful things out of the dust / You make beautiful things, You make beautiful things out of us.”
I’ve Tasted You: “The best part is that I’ll never have to kick the thick veil away again, never again / And I’m not brave, but You taught me how not to be a slave, ever again.”
Servant Song: “Won’t you let me be your servant, let me be as Christ to you / Pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too.”
Auryn White will be sharing a message based out of Mark 2:13-17 entitled The difference between giving service and loving service.
Mark 2:1-17 reads:
Jesus went out again beside the lake; the whole crowd gathered around him, and he taught them. As he was walking along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he got up and followed him.
And as he sat at dinner in Levi’s house, many tax-collectors and sinners were also sitting with Jesus and his disciples—for there were many who followed him. When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax-collectors, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does he eat with tax-collectors and sinners?’ When Jesus heard this, he said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.’
There will be a special offering taken in support of Mexico Trip 2012. Please designate your checks for Mexico by writing “Mexico Trip 2012” in the memo line.
Meeting for Worship begins at 9:30am.
